... are the best thing about Vista.
I made a brash purchase
Published on October 12, 2009 By CAaronL In Stardock Support General

I so was impressed by a video demo I came across showing off the effects available in WindowsFX that I purchased it, only to find that it definitely does not work with my Windows version (7 Ultimate, x64).  I held out some hope because in Impulse, it told me that a newer version of WindowFX is available ("3.09 ALPHA"), but when I try to actually install this update, it tells me "The beta of the application you are attempting to download/register is not available."

Would I be completely out of line to ask for a refund of my $19.95 purchase price, since it appears that I bought a program that I will not be able to use?  I know it's due to my own oversight, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

FWIW, I am a loyal Stardock customer.  I have purchased ObjectDock Plus, and I have a current Object Desktop subscription.

Thank you in advance for your help!

WindowFX does not support Windows 7 at this time.

If you mail sales@stardock.com they should be able to help you out.

WindowFX is currenty only for use with XP only, however i think a new version is developed which may work on windows 7, best bet is to e-mail sales@stardock.com and ask for a refund though might not get a full refund as it does say xp only on the Object Desktop comparison page page
